Pratish R. Shingala (TNBSA) rallied to defeat A. Naseeb Mazar (TNBSA) 3-1 in a best-of-five frames final of the MUC-IOB snooker tournament on Saturday.

The first frame was a one-sided affair as Naseeb put up a composed display. Even as his opponent made critical errors, Naseeb walked away with the frame 44-25.

The action in the second frame was more absorbing. At 24-all, Pratish achieved a break of 18.

However, his foul resulted in Naseeb gaining six points. Pratish held his nerve though and potted pink to restore parity. He clinched the frame 48-39.

The momentum had swung towards Pratish and he ensured it stayed that way with a 70-2 performance in the third frame. Breaks of 44 — the most in the match — and 12 helped Pratish assert himself on the contest.

The fourth frame seemed to be in the balance but Pratish secured breaks when they mattered and eventually sewed up the match.
