Panasonic Open Golf: Gangjee keeps lead

November 08, 2014 01:00 am | Updated 01:00 am IST - NEW DELHI:

There was no perceptible change in the script as Rahil Gangjee kept his overnight two-stroke lead over defending champion Wade Ormsby at the half-way stage of the $300,000 Panasonic Open at the Delhi Golf Club course here on Friday.

Gangjee followed his first-day six-under 66 with a round of 68 for a tally of 10-under 134.

The card, including six birdies and two bogeys, matched the effort of Ormsby, who finished his round in the afternoon.

In the joint third place, at 137, Sri Lankan Mithun Perera, Australian Terry Pilkadaris and Bangladesh’s Siddikur Rahman were in the unexpected company of amateur Pratap Atwal, nephew of Arjun Atwal.

But the big surprise performer of the day was Gurgaon-based Shubhankar Sharma, who fired a bogey-free 65 — the best of the competition so far — to share the seventh spot at 138.
