Malhotra, Randhir pull out of IOA delegation

The acting president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Prof. V.K. Malhotra, and International Olympic Committee (IOC) member in India, Randhir Singh, on Thursday, withdrew from the meeting scheduled at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne.

Six days before the meeting, being held to consider India’s return to the Olympic fold, this development has cast a shadow over the entire process.

Randhir and Malhotra were obviously protesting against the IOC’s directive to include Hockey India general secretary Narinder Kumar Batra and Jharkhand Olympic Association president R.K. Anand in the IOA delegation.
