Four-time World champion Lin Dan of China demonstrated that the hunger for big titles has not diminished much for him as he carved out a clinical 21-12, 21-16 win over teammate Chen Long in the 45-minute, men’s singles final of the BWF World Super series badminton championship on Sunday.

It was yet another impressive display by the 28-year-old reigning Olympic and the World champion when he dished out a lesson or two in a relatively tension-free final when Chen failed to produce his form which saw him knock-out big names including defending champion and World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei in the semi-final here.

This was Lin Dan's seventh title this year. Combining his splendid net-game with his trademark awesome jump smashes, he was way ahead of his rival and quite a few times he looked very relaxed and just waiting for the 22-year-old opponent to make the mistakes.

There were no doubt on glimpses of second-seed Chen’s class when he came up with some fine cross-court strokes but it was obvious that he was up against an opponent who showed there was no place for sentiments and friendship. And, when Chen’s backhand return landed in the net to signal his defeat, it was an apt climax which saw Lin Dan pump his fists in celebration of yet another major victory.
