IVL final leg from today

The final leg of the Indian Volley League will commence at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium here from Monday.

Chennai Spikers has been the dominant force so far in the inaugural edition of a concept which has become a big hit with the spectators and the players.

But, despite topping the last two legs (in Chennai and Yanam) to chalk up 26 points, Chennai Spikers leads its nearest rival Hyderabad Chargers by just two points.

This should make this final round very exciting and also test the skill and endurance level of the contenders.

With the players already showing signs of fatigue due to the demanding schedule, the team which puts plays its fittest combination will be in with a better chance to clinch the championship, which has total prize money of Rs.22.5 lakh.

The overall points tally — Chennai Spikers (26), Hyderabad Chargers (24), Yanam Tigers (22), Karnataka Bulls (22), Maratha Warriors (21) and Kerala Killers (20) — presents a picture which should delight the die-hard fans.

Kerala Killers vs Karnataka Bulls (3.30 p.m.); Hyderabad Chargers vs Maratha Warriors (5.30 p.m.) & Chennai Spikers vs Yanam Tigers (7.30 p.m.).
