The second edition of the Indian Volleyball League, which was scheduled to be held in three southern centres in October, has been postponed to February next year.
“We don’t have the dates this year,” said Volleyball Federation of India secretary-general Ramavtar Singh from Jaipur on Thursday evening.
The Indian men will be playing the 2014 World championship’s Asian qualifiers in Chenzhou, China from September 20 to 22.

After a short break, the team will leave for Dubai for the Asian championship from September 28 to October 6.
“And when they return, they will be busy with State coaching camps, championships, inter-Railway and Services meets and the senior Nationals in Uttar Pradesh from December 21 to 29.”
Chennai, Bangalore and Triprayar in Kerala’s Thrissur district had been planned as the venues for the IVL earlier but now Delhi is likely to come in too.

A foreign team, most probably from Qatar, is also a possibility and is awaiting confirmation.
Federation Cup put off
Meanwhile, the Kerala State Volleyball Association, which revived the Federation Cup after 10 years and hosted it as an inter-State event in Pathanamthitta last December, has decided not to have the championship this year.
The KSVA had planned to have the Federation Cup in Kannur late this year but its secretary Nalakath Basheer said it had been forced to postpone the event as it was tough to get sponsors ahead of next year’s general elections.
