India tops qualifying event

India scored a 63-31 victory over Bangladesh in the last league encounter on Sunday, and qualified for the Asian under-18 basketball championship.

The host topped the four-team league after having won its earlier matches against Nepal and Sri Lanka in a comprehensive fashion in the Middle Asia qualifying under-18 basketball championship here.

The results (league): India 63 (Pal Preet Singh 18, Rakesh 16) bt Bangladesh 31.

Sri Lanka 64 (Anuk Arjun 14, Nithesh Mayanka 13, Praveen Anthony 12, H. Rajith 10) bt Nepal 47 (Siddhartha Maharajan 10, Ayush Singh 10).
