India outplays Sri Lanka

February 26, 2012 12:11 am | Updated 12:11 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The Indian team continued with its domination as it outclassed Sri Lanka 93-45 after leading 47-23 at half-time in a league match of the Middle Asia Zone qualifying men's under-18 basketball tournament at the Thyagaraj Stadium here on Saturday.

With the main players scoring well and with almost everyone getting into the shooting act, the Indian team played smart to lead 78-32 at the end of the third quarter, but eased to a smooth finish, rather than pressing hard to break the 100 mark in its second successive match.

It was the second victory for the host which had overwhelmed Nepal 120-41 in its first encounter. India will play Bangladesh on Sunday morning, in the four-team competition.
