Koneru Humpy maintained her sole lead at the end of the eighth round of the FIDE women’s Grand Prix chess tournament at Dilijian, Armenia, on Monday. The top-seeded Indian now has six points after drawing the Lithuania’s Viktorija Cmylite.
With three rounds remaining, Slovenian Anna Muzychuk, seeded second, is in the second position with 5.5 points.
The other Indian in the fray, D. Harika lost to Russia’s Tatiana Kosintseva and remained on 3.5 points.
