An Indian Motorcycle League, a new concept similar in format to the IPL, was launched here on Friday by the well known Indian and international motorcycle riders K. Rajini, Sarath Kumar, K. Jagan and Harry Sylvester.
Also present was the IML Chairman, Rasheed Khan.
The IML is expected to provide a platform and an opportunity to for riders to display their skills in endurance racing in three rounds.

The inaugural round will be held in February in Coimbatore, followed a round each in Chennai and at the Buddh International Circuit, Noida.
The IML is approved by FMSCI, according to a press release.
Rasheed said the IML would help many talented young riders in India who have had limited opportunities to perform.

“The IML Class is similar to the IPL format in that 40 riders from eight cities will be selected by franchise teams across the country to take part in endurance races.
The IML will provide all the necessary riding equipment and the bikes to each of teams. Each team will also be provided its own dedicated coach to train riders,” he said.
