Chain Singh asserts class

Chain Singh continued to assert his class as he shot 1166 in the men’s rifle 3-position event in the Olympic trials at the Dr. Karni Singh range, Tughlakabad, on Sunday.

Rahul Poonia came up with the second best score of 1159.

In men’s air pistol, Olympic quota aspirant Omkar Singh shot 580, four points ahead of Jitendra Vibhute.

In women’s 50-metre rifle 3-position event, the young N. Gaayathri topped the table with 580, comfortably ahead of the likes of the seasoned Tejaswini Muley, Raj Chaudhary, Tejaswini Sawant, Anjali Bhagwat and Anuja Jung.

In women’s air pistol also, Commonwealth Games silver medallist Malaika Goel topped the list with 378, two points ahead of Yashaswini Deswal.

50m rifle 3-position: 1. Chain Singh 1166, 2. Rahul Poonia 1159, 3. Imran Hasan Khan 1153, 4. Swapnil Kusale 1146.

Women: 10m air pistol: 1. Malaika Goel 378, 2. Yashawini Singh 376, 4. Aakanksha Singh 375, 4. Sarvesh Tomar 372.

50m rifle 3-position: 1. N. Gaayathri 580, 2. Tejaswini Muley 573, 3. Raj Chaudhary 572, 4. Tejaswini Sawant 572, 5. Anjali Bhagwat 570, 6. Anuja Jung 568.
