Despite being tested on a cloudy afternoon, the sailors excelled on the last day of the Gamesa-RMYC 420 Coastal Nationals here on Wednesday.
In the action packed 10th and 11th races, Upamanyu Dutta and Hussain Arsiwala (INWTC) were in fabulous form winning both to take the title. The two adapted to difficult conditions that included shifting winds.
Shiv Rekhi and Ankit George of RMYC finished second overall.

Imolemnok and Ashok Kumar (INWTC), who too impressed with their ability to cope with different scenarios, took the third spot.
The two finished second in the first race of the day, and Chennai girls Zephra Currimbhoy and Meaghanaa BT (RMYC) made it to third spot.
In the eleventh race, Zephra Currimbhoy and B.T. Meaghanaa (RMYC) did even better taking second place, and Rekhi and George finished third.

Dutta and Arsiwala said: “It was a hard, windy day but we had fun sailing. It feels great to win the championship and we hope to sail here more often.”
Talking of their future plans, they said: “We are going to Europe next week to train for a month and a half as we are looking at representing India at the Asian Games in 2014.
“Apart from training, we will also be taking part in three championships — Kiel Week, Warnemunde Week as well as the 420 World Championship in Valencia.”
