Vijay Kumar fails to qualify for 25m rapid-fire pistol final round

Olympic silver medallist marksman Vijay Kumar on Tuesday made a shock exit in the qualification round of the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol event of the 20th Commonwealth Games after finishing seventh.

Vijay shot a total of 555 points in the two qualification rounds to finish seventh and missed out on a place in the final round.

Harpreet Singh, another Indian in fray, topped the qualification stage with a total of 573 points (with 14 hits at the bulls eye) followed by the Australian duo of Bruce Quick (572) and David J Chapman (568).
