Force India ends F1 season at ninth in constructors’ table

Force India drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil finished 15th and 17th respectively at the final Grand Prix of the year here today, as the Vijay Mallya-owned outfit ended the Formula One season on 13 points.

Liuzzi, who started 17th at the grid improved two places while team-mate Sutil could gain one place after starting at 18th at the Abu Dhabi GP at the Yas Marina Circuit here.

Former Force India driver Giancarlo Fisichella ended at 16th in between Liuzzi and Sutil.

Force India ended the season at ninth at the constructors’ standing with 13 points.

Fisichella had won eight points for Force India by finishing second at Belgian GP on August 30 before leaving for Ferrari.

Sutil added five points at the Italian GP at Monza on September 13 by finishing fourth.

Liuzzi was pencilled in as Fisichella’s replacement and it was his fifth race for Force India here.
