Top seed Antoine Escoffier of France and third seed Karunuday Singh of India set up a title clash in the men’s singles event with contrasting wins over their rivals on the penultimate day of the Mysore Minerals Ltd. men's ITF $10,000 Mandya Open here on Friday.
Frenchman Antoine Escoffier had a rather easy passage to the final, staving off the challenge put up by the Indian and eighth seed P. Vishnu Vardhan in straight sets 6-4, 7-6(4).
In the first set, both the players held serves until the eighth game before Vishnu's unforced errors enabled Escoffier to earn the needed break of serve which enabled him to take the set at 6-4.

The second set saw both the players holding serve at the tie went into a tie-break after 6-6. The Frenchman impressed with some stunning passing shots on both the flanks for which Vishnu had no reply in the tie-breaker.
Escoffier went into a early 3-0 lead, but Vishnu fought back to level at 4-4, before the Frenchman won three points in a row to seal his place in the final.
In the other semifinal, third seed Karunuday Singh beat Ronit Singh Bisht 6-7(6), 6-2, 7-6(5).

Anvit, Akash duo triumph
The second seeded Indian pair of Anvit Bendre and Akash Wagh clinched the doubles crown with a 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 victory over Taipe’s Jui-Chen Hung and India’s Sasi Kumar Mukund to claim 18 ATP points and $ 310 each.
