Brazil forward Kaka has rejoined AC Milan from Real Madrid, the Serie A club said Monday.

The 31-year-old international has agreed a two-year contract reported to be worth 4 million euros (5.3 million dollars) per season, a reduction from the 10 million euros he earned at Real.

“I am very happy. It was a long negotiation. I thank the fans and the team-mates for their messages of affection,” Kaka was quoted as saying as he left Madrid.

“I am going back home. Now I can have more joys with Milan.” He was expected in Milan around noon to undergo medical tests as the Milan website carried a headline, “Where were we, Ricky?” to a story recalling his last game and goal with the Rossoneri in May 2009.

Kaka, whose full name is Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, joined Milan in 2003 from Brazil club Sao Paulo for 8.5 million euros.

He scored 95 goals in 270 games with the Devils, helping them win one national title and one Champions League.

His 2009 transfer to Real brought Milan 67 million euros. Milan said the deal to have him back was reached in the early hours of Monday.

Real, where he was fielded rarely last season, are said to have received no money from the transfer.
