Bengal defeated Maharashtra 2-1 in a group match of the National football championships for the Santosh Trophy here on Thursday.
At half-time, the scoreline was 1-0 in favour of Bengal after Raja Dass scored in the 35th minute.
Shabaz Pathan of Maharashtra restored parity in the 49th minute. Raja Dass netted the winner in the dying minutes of the game.
