ISL: Muthoot Group is official referee, fair play awards sponsor

Leading business conglomerate Muthoot Group has become the official referee and fair play awards sponsor for the inaugural Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament.

The group has also announced the ‘Muthoot Group Fair Play award’ which will go to the teams that bags the maximum fair play points at the end of the league.

The eagerly awaited ten-week football league is scheduled from October 12 to December 20 and will feature international and Indian players, with eight teams playing 61 matches in eight cities across the country.

Speaking on the association, Alexander George Muthoot, Director, The Muthoot Group said: “We are a foundation that has been built and known for the principles of ethics, values, reliability, dependability, trustworthiness, goodwill and integrity for the past 127 years.

“We have also been at the forefront to promote sports and celebrate sportsmanship. Our decision to partner with the Hero Indian Super League goes beyond business as ‘fair play’ reflects the innate values of our brand and the game. This partnership will also allow us to build the referees as brand advocates and ambassadors of fair play.”
