Sweden captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic won his seventh Golden Ball at the annual Swedish football gala late on Monday, consolidating his position as the Scandinavian country’s biggest star.
It was the sixth consecutive best-player award for the PSG forward, who was also named forward of the year and took the goal of the year award for the acrobatic goal he scored against France at Euro 2012.
Lotta Schelin won her third Diamond Ball — the award presented to the best women’s player. The 28-year-old plays for French side Lyon — winner of the French league, the French Cup and women’s Champions League.
