FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India to be held from February 17 to March 7 next year

The tournament was originally scheduled to be held from November 2 to 21 this year but was postponed last month due to the coronavirus outbreak

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, originally scheduled to be held later this year, has now been rescheduled to February 17-March 7, 2021.

The new dates were announced by FIFA as part of the decisions confirmed and approved by the Bureau of the FIFA Council after an assessment of the COVID-19 impact. and recommendations from the FIFA-Confederations COVID-19 Working Group. However, the age eligibility criteria for players for the event is remains the same, making even those turning 18 in this period eligible for participation since the organisers have decided to treat the tournament as the 2020 edition only.

The 2020 Under-20 Women’s World Cup, in Costa Rica / Panama, has also been rescheduled to January 20-February 6, 2021 while the 2020 Futsal World Cup would be held from September 12-October 3, 2021 in Lithuania. The tournaments, though, remain conditional subject to further monitoring of the pandemic. situation.
