Chelsea beats Manchester United to reach FA Cup semis

Demba Ba scored a brilliant winner as Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 in an FA Cup quarterfinal replay at Old Trafford on Monday.

The striker scored with a stunning volley after a superb pass by Juan Mata early in the second-half and Chelsea held on to set up a semifinal clash against Manchester City.

Petr Cech made a crucial save to deny Javier Hernandez what seemed an almost certain goal while Robin van Persie missed a golden chance to equalise with three minutes to go as he volleyed wide.

The Dutchman also headed over in injury time as Chelsea saw off United’s hopes.
