Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out for up to a month with a thigh injury.
Manager Alex Ferguson said the England centre back slightly tore his thigh during training last week ahead of the defending champion’s Premier League opener against Birmingham.
Ferguson originally thought that Ferdinand would only be sidelined for a couple of weeks, but he said on Friday: “Rio is going to be out for three to four weeks.
