Food Corporation of India (FCI) registered a 3-1 victory over Southern Railways in the St. Joseph's-Chennai Football Association senior division league at the Nehru Stadium here on Friday.

FCI struck in the 38th minute through Premkumar. The striker's weak lob took the goalkeeper Karunkumar by surprise as the ball went over him.

Railways equalised in the closing stages of the first half. In a skirmish, FCI's Vinoba Gandhi handled the ball and referee Jayapal Fernando had no hesitation in awarding a penalty. Rajesh effortlessly scored.

Railways's star striker Riju took the centrestage and was instrumental in quite a few goal-bound moves. FCI's Dilip Kumar's strike was the best goal of the match. He collected the ball and ran over 10 yards dodging past two defenders to shoot in the 56th minute. In the third minute of injury time, Dilip made it 3-1. After a loss (to Arrows) and a draw (with Indian Bank), this is FCI's first win.

Earlier in a first division contest, Tamil Nadu Police beat RPF 2-0. Devaraj and Sundaravannakannan scored.
