Barua to continue as coach

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has decided to retain Anadi Barua as the chief coach of the Indian women’s team.

Barua, a former India international, had taken charge in January for two friendlies against a visiting club side from the Netherlands. He will now coach the side in the 2014 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, to be held in Palestine, in May.

The group D qualifying round matches will be held in West Bank from May 21-25.

The senior women’s camp for the qualifiers will start on April 1 at Pune. The team will travel to Nepal and Bahrain for practice before proceeding to Palestine.

The campers’ list:

Goalkeepers : Swarnamayee Samal, Roshini Devi, Tikina Samal and Usharani Das.

Defenders : Romi Devi, Ashalata Devi, Rashmita Patra, Suprava Samal, G. Radharani Devi, Tuli Goon, Lako Phuti Bhutia, Rebika Devi and Bijaya Devi.

Midfielders : Kamala Devi, Premi Devi, Supriya Routray, Manisha Panna, Nikhila Thumbayil, Amoolya Kamal, Montessori Chanu, O. Bembem Devi, Subhaprava Rout, Margaret Devi, Paromita Sit and Ansha.

Forwards : Parmeshwari Devi, Nima Lamhu Bhutia, Reena Roy, Jyoti Burret, Swati Rawat, D. Grace, Pinky Bompal Magar, Sasmita Malik, Sangeeta Basfore and L. Naobi Chanu.
