Tickets for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil began without any problems on Tuesday, with more than 14,000 requests in the first hour of sales, according to the football ruling body FIFA.
FIFA reported no technical issues regarding the selling of the first 81,821 tickets — available on pre-order at fifa.com around the world for the June 12-July 13, 2014 spectacle. Most of the ticket requests came from Brazil, Argentina, the United States, Australia and Britain.
The first ticket stage will last until October 10, during which 1 million of a total of 3 million tickets will be sold. A lottery will be used should there be more orders than tickets.

Every buyer can purchase a maximum four tickets for seven matches — regardless of time point of order.
Football fans outside of Brazil will have to pay nearly 70 euros for the cheapest tickets. The most expensive ticket for the final on July 13, 2014 at Maracana Stadium costs 755 euros.
Just like the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the cheapest tickets available — category IV — are reserved for local residents. Tickets are as low as 10 euros for students, persons over 60 years and welfare recipients.
