Suchith bowls Karnataka to exciting victory

A match-winning bowling performance by left-arm spinner J. Suchith (six for 66) and good support from off-spinner Zeeshan Ali (three for 44) helped host Karnataka register an exciting six-run win over Rajasthan and secure six points on the final day of the four-day C.K. Nayudu Trophy under-23 cricket match here on Thursday.

Resuming at six for no loss, Rajasthan was bowled out for 169 in 71 overs.

A.S. Lamba remained not out with a well-compiled 62 while S.A. Chouhan chipped in with 39.

Suchith finished with a match-haul of 12 for 181 — six for 115 in the first innings and six for 66 in the second essay.

Akshay, Rahul score unbeaten centuires

At Chennai, skipper Akshay Kodoth and P. Rahul scored unbeaten centuries for Kerala in the second innings against Tamil Nadu that ended in a draw.

The duo added 194 runs in 73.1 overs for the third wicket before Kerala declared with 296 runs on the board.

Kerala took three points from the game after having taken the first innings lead on Wednesday. Tamil Nadu got one point.

Remarkable win

At Mohali, Uttar Pradesh pulled off a remarkable five-wicket victory over Punjab on Thursday.

Having conceded a 111-run first innings lead, skipper Akshdeep Nath’s unbeaten 69 helped UP reach 249 for five to win by five wickets.

Bengal beats Tripura

At Kalyani, Bengal scored an eight-wicket victory against Tripura while in Cuttack Himachal Pradesh thrashed Odisha by an innings and 54 runs.

In another match, Baroda defeated Saurashtra by four wickets at Vadodara.
