Bookie Ashwini Aggrawal, known as ‘Tinku Mandi’, who was brought here from Delhi in connection with the IPL spot-fixing case, was on Saturday remanded in police custody by a local court here till June 6.
The Crime Branch said it wanted to interrogate Aggrawal to find out whether he had links with players other than Rajasthan Royals’ Ajit Chandila.
Public Prosecutor Wajid Sheikh said Mumbai-based bookies had placed bets with Aggarwal to the tune of crores. This amount was hawala-channelled by Aggrawal through the other 13 accused arrested in the case, said Mr. Khan.

Aggrawal placed bets using a mobile number registered in the name of one Kothari and the Crime Branch wanted to trace this person.
The court also extended the remand for Pune-based bookies Dinesh Sharma and Kishore Pablani till June 6.
“As of now, Tinku has not revealed the names of any player other than Chandila and his colleague Ankeet Chavan … we are also probing his financial dealings,” said a top police official. The police would keep a tab on guests attending Chavan’s marriage here on Sunday.

Mr. Chavan was earlier released from Tihar jail after a court granted him bail.
Police said bookie Paresh Bhatia would be brought from Goa to Mumbai for questioning.
