It is all about one or two crucial overs: Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja thinks that the difference between winning and losing in the shortest format of the game is all about “one or two crucial overs.”

The Chennai Super Kings allrounder declined to see Kings XI Punjab as a starless team and said, “Twenty20 is not about star players. Any team can have a good game on its day. One or two crucial overs can change the match.”

During a brief interaction with mediapersons on the eve of the Super Kings-Kings XI clash in Mohali, Jadeja said, “We will come back strongly (on Wednesday). We gave Mumbai Indians a good fight the other night. Dhoni batted really well. It is a long tournament with several matches. So there is nothing to worry about.”

When asked about the difference he feels when bowling in T20 cricket as compared to Tests, Jadeja said, “Both formats are totally different. You have to chalk out your strategies depending on the batsman. In T20, you don’t want to concede too many runs because you know the batsman will always be attacking you. In Tests, the aim is to go for wickets.”

He sounded pleased to be here having done well in the Test last month. “I love this ground. I like the ambience and the facilities, too. I hope I will be able to perform well. It is Chennai’s endeavour to give its best, whether it’s the first match or the last.”

Meanwhile, South Africans Albie Morkel and Chris Morris joined the team, thus adding to the options available to skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
