A trial court on Thursday granted the suspended Rajasthan Royals cricketer Ankeet Chavan interim bail for a week in the spot-fixing case, to allow him to get married on June 2.
The bail conditions include his furnishing a bond for Rs. 1 lakh with two sureties for a like amount, surrendering his passport and not leaving the country, and not making any direct or indirect inducement to any person connected with the case.
The court asked him to surrender on June 6.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinay Kumar Khanna said: “By denying the accused [bail] to solemnise marriage which is already fixed, not only he but also the would-be bride and other relatives would suffer for no fault of theirs.”
The accused also filed an affidavit of his fiancée and submitted the wedding card.
A metropolitan magistrate court earlier denied him bail.

Meanwhile, a Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court granted regular bail to paceman S. Sreesanth’s friend Abhishek Shukla, on his furnishing a bond for Rs. 25,000 and a surety for a like amount.
The Delhi Police have charged him with removing the cricketer’s money and articles from his hotel room in Mumbai.
The court rejected the police plea for judicial custody, saying they had failed to convince it that Shukla was involved in spot-fixing.
