In the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, England begins its campaign at the Oval on May 30, against South Africa.

In the 1975 inaugural World Cup, England was beaten in the semifinals. In 1979, England was beaten by West Indies in the finals. In 1983, once again England entered semifinals. In 1987 and 1992, England finished second best. After 1992, England did reach quarterfinal stage only once, in 1996.

In the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, England begins its campaign at the Oval on May 30, against South Africa.
