An unsavoury spectacle unveiled itself while India suffered a four-run defeat to Australia in the first match of the Hero Honda Cup ODI series here on Sunday. A section of the crowd booed Indian skipper M.S. Dhoni and the chants became incessant during the post-match presentation ceremony.

However, Dhoni took the crowd’s reaction in his stride.

“This is part and parcel of the game and it is not as if it is happening for the first time. We were booed in Mumbai and other places too whenever we have lost a match.

“At the end of the day, you have to win games and we lost today so this is normal behaviour and we have gone through this before too,” Dhoni said.
