Olympic champion Dayron Robles easily beat Yevgeniy Borisov of Russia to win the 60-meter hurdles at the Pas de Calais meeting on Friday.

Robles, scheduled to run at next week's world indoor championships in Doha, won in 7.45 seconds on a track where he picked up a hamstring injury last year.

“I felt good, everything went fine and I'm ready for Doha even if I don't want to talk about this right now,'” Robles said on French TV through a translator.

Robles, who holds the world record in the 110 hurdles, beat Borisov by 0.08 seconds, while Igor Permota of Russia finished third in 7.67.

Local favorite Ladji Doucoure of France was a disappointing 6th place in 7.75.

“Tonight it was crap, but I'm not worried because all my preparation has been centered around peaking at Doha,” Doucoure said.

Leslie Djhone of France won the 300 in 32.47 for the best all-time European performance on this distance. Roman Smirnov of Russia placed second in 32.88 ahead of Yousif Rabah of Sudan, who finished third in 33.04.

“This is my first winter without injury since 2004,” Djhone said. “It changes everything, I have been able to work hard.”
