Junior Ankit Sharma finished sixth in the men's long jump with 7.58m at the Commonwealth Games athletics here on Saturday evening.
But Maha Singh was way below his best while finishing ninth with 7.47.
Hari Shanker Roy, the men's National high jump record holder with 2.25m, could only manage 2.15m to finish 11th in the final while the young Nikhil Chittarasu who had crossed the same height was in the 13th spot.

Prajusha enters final
Meanwhile, M.A. Prajusha, who shattered the national triple jump on Friday, led her friends Mayookha Johny and Resmi Bose into the women's long jump final.
Prajusha was fourth in Group ‘A' with 6.31m while Mayooka (6.27m, fourth) and Resmi Bose (6.12, fifth) made the grade from Group ‘B'.

Vikas Gowda qualified for the men's discus final after finishing second in the qualifying round with 60.83m while Anil Kumar, who was chosen against the wishes of the selection committee on the argument that he was throwing 59m in training and competitions abroad, could only manage 47.86m and crashed out.
O.P. Jaisha (10:20.83, 8th) and Priyanka Singh Patel (10:26.48, 9th) took the last two spots in the women's 3000m steeple chase final while Manpreet Kaur was ninth in women's shotput with 14.50m and Patwant Kaur, who was also picked against the opinion of the selection committee, could only manage a weak 12.63 to finish 11th.
G. Pramila (5330) and Susmita Singha Roy (5120), in that order, took the fifth and sixth spots in women's heptathlon while S. Saraswathi (51.51m, season best) and Suman Devi (51.19) were eighth and ninth in the women's javelin final.
S. Geetha progressed to women's 200m second round after finishing third in her heats with a season best 23.99s but in the men's half lap, despite a personal best 21.20s, Dharambir crashed out in the second round.
Francis Sagayaraj suffered a fall in the men's 800m semifinal and did not complete the race while Manjit was seventh in his group with 1:50.88 and failed to progress further.
Jauna Murmu finished last in her heats in the women's 400m hurdles with 59.86s while A.C. Chidananda was fifth in her group (59.49). Both crashed out while in the men's 400 hurdles, national record holder Joseph Abraham also failed to make the grade after clocking 50.55s to finish fourth in his heats.
