8 nations to participate in SAF Junior athletic championship

The full complement of eight nations have confirmed participation in the SAF Junior Athletic championship to be held here on December 11 and 12.

India would be represented by all those who won medals in the recently concluded National junior meet in Warangal. The contingent would comprise 33 boys and girls each with eight coaches, W I Devaram, Vice President, Athletic Federation of India told a press conference here today.

He said over 250 athletes would vie for honours in the under-20 category in the event.

Mr. Devaram said a 10 member athletic team from the Maldives, including four women, along with four coaches have already arrived in the city

A total of seven athletes, including four women, would represent Tamil Nadu in the championship, he said.
