US hurdler Ross banned for doping

February 06, 2010 09:37 am | Updated 09:37 am IST - WASHINGTON

U.S. hurdler Duane Ross was given a two-year suspension by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Friday.

Ross was also disqualified of all results since November 2, 2001 for abusing “anabolic agents and hormones”, USADA said in a statement.

The USADA made the decision after information “recently received by USADA during separate investigations arising from information obtained during the BALCO conspiracy.” Ross finished second in the 110m hurdles at the 2004 US Olympic trials, but failed to advance from the semifinals at the Athens Games. He was the 110m hurdles bronze medalist at the 1999 World Championships.
