Russia win women’s biathlon relay

Hochfilzen, Austria : Olga Zaitseva kept her cool when it mattered on the anchor leg as world and Olympic champions Russia won a biathlon women’s relay race on Sunday.

Zaitseva had to reload only once in two trips to the shooting range as she won the 4x6-kilometres race together with Svetlana Sleptsova, Anna Boulygina and Iana Romanova in 1 hour 13 minutes 37.0 seconds.

France trailed by 3.8 seconds in second place with seven reloaders compared to Russia’s overall six. World Cup leader Helena Jonsson anchored Sweden to third place, 4.6 seconds behind, with three reloaders. A men’s 7.5km relay was to wrap up the Hochfilzen races later on Sunday.
