Amrita Visweswaran started learning painting at the age of four, and her love for art, her perception, composition and enthusiasm is rather unusual. Amrita was exposed to many things at a tender age but it was painting that fascinated her. She also experiments with bold colours and in the recent times has been exploring marker pens in her art works.

Her work is predominantly acrylic on canvas. Since 2013 her art has been used to create calendars, the proceeds from which go to Madhuram Narayanan Centre For Exceptional Children. The centre, run by her family, provides early intervention services for children aged six and below with mental disabilities, developmental delays and associated disabilities.

The proceeds from calendar sales this year will be divided equally between the centre, and the cause of rehabilitation of flood-hit Coorg.
