Air Odisha launches Vizag-Jagdalpur flight

MLA PGVR Naidu handing over the ticket to the first passenger on the Vizag - Jagadalpur Air Odisha flight at the Visakhapatnam Airport on Wednesday.

Air Odisha launched a service to Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh from Visakhapatnam with its maiden flight on Wednesday.

The 19-seater Beechcraft, to fly to Raipur and Bhubaneswar as well, had 12 arriving and 10 departing passengers, and would fly in 15 passengers from Bhubaneswar and carry 14 to Jagdalpur on Thursday, Air Odisha MD Shaishav Shah told The Hindu.

Asked about plans to connect other airports in the State, he said, “Air Odisha will launch the Kadapa – Chennai flight, under UDAN in July this year.” Based on the demand, the connectivity to Jagdalpur from Vizag would be improved, Mr. Shah added.
