Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel terms son Parabal’s arrest ‘unfortunate’

The Union Culture and Tourism Minister’s son, Prabal Patel, and his nephew, Monu Patel, were among those booked for attempt to murder after an attack that left five people injured.

A day after his son was arrested along with six persons in an attempt-to- murder case in Madhya Pradesh, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel on Wednesday termed the situation “sad and unfortunate”.

The “law will take its course”, Mr. Patel said here, declining to comment on the case.

Mr. Patel’s son, Prabal Patel, and his nephew, Monu Patel, were among those booked for attempt to murder after an attack that left five people, including a Home Guard, injured at Gotegaon in Narsinghpur district on Monday night.

 

“The victims have alleged that Prabal Patel, 26, Monu Patel, 27, and about a dozen others attacked them at Bailhai Bazaar around 11.30 p.m. on Monday. Gun were fired, and one person was hit. Seven persons, including Prabal Patel, were arrested in this connection,” Superintendent of Police Gurukaran Singh said on Tuesday.
