A Delhi court has convicted a Pakistani national and self-proclaimed commander of terrorist outfit Hizb-ul-Mujaheedin in Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir for inciting terrorist acts in India.
Additional Sessions Judge Reetesh Singh held him guilty as Mohammed Abudulla alias Abdullah Inqlabi pleaded guilty to all the charges levelled by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police and later framed by the court. The court awarded him seven years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 1.79 lakh.
He pleaded guilty while recording his statement following the conclusion of the recording of evidence by the prosecution witnesses in the case.

“The accused in his statement under Section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code has admitted to all the incriminating evidence that has come on record against him in this trial,” the Judge said.
The Special Cell sleuths arrested him after a chase and exchange of fire in Hauz Khas in South Delhi in 2010. Two of the bullets fired by the militant had hit the bullet-proof jackets of two officers of the Cell’s team which had gone to the spot but they were not hurt.
The police team had reached the spot on a tip-off by a central agency that the accused would be coming to the main gate of the Rose Garden opposite the main gate of IIT in Hauz Khas to meet an associate with illegal arms and ammunition.

The police had recovered one Star Mark Chinese Pistol of .30 bore with three live cartridges from his possession.
The cell had later taken him to Rajouri where he had got recovered one AK 56 rifle and other items.
