The Hindu, others want IRS 2013 withdrawn

The Hindu and other leading national publications have demanded that the Indian Readership Survey 2013 be withdrawn, because of ‘shocking anomalies’ in its estimates.

It also completely ignored circulation, which was the very basis of readership, and grossly contradicted the audited circulation figures, they said.

The publications also demanded, in a statement, that all future editions of this survey be stopped. Condemning the IRS 2013, the publications urged advertisers and media agencies not to rely upon or use the survey results put out by RSCI and MRUC.
