A young couple, suspected to be lovers, allegedly attempted suicide in Yellendu town on Monday. According to police sources, Vijay, 19, and an 18-year-old girl of Repallevada village in Yellendu mandal, allegedly consumed poison near the local railway station in the afternoon.
They fell unconscious and were rushed to the district headquarters hospital in Khammam. Their condition was stated to be stable. The duo were students of a local degree college, sources said. The police registered a case and have started investigatiosn. - Staff Reporter
