The election authority had accepted 23.78 lakh applications and rejected 2.45 lakh applications during the scrutiny of these applications. In all, 1.95 lakh names of duplicate voters and 44,721 names pertaining to dead voters were removed after due verification.

Elector ratio

In the process, the elector population ratio (voters for thousand population) increased to 762 as against 738 and the gender ratio has increased to 989 against 982 of the previous revision.

A significant feature of the current summary revision has been the enthusiastic response from voters in the age group of 18 to 19 registering enrolment of 5.99 lakh new voters in the latest roll.

Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar said the election authority had decided to organise special camps for enrolment of genuine left out voters on March 2 and 3.

The booth level officers would be available on the two days with the relevant forms and all the new applications received during the special camps would be disposed off by March 14, the CEO explained.
