Minister annoyed at poor sanitary conditions

Unhygienic environs greeted the Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etela Rajender at the government headquarters hospital in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Following the State government declaring medical emergency due to the outbreak of swine flu deaths in Hyderabad, the Minister accompanied by Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, legislator Gangula Kamalakar, Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad and others visited the headquarters hospital only to be welcomed by unhealthy atmosphere with garbage dumps in the open and scurrying pigs and dogs. The Minister after inspecting each and every wing in the hospital expressed his displeasure over the unhygienic conditions and instructed the authorities to take immediate steps to maintain proper sanitation. He said that the government was taking necessary steps to check the spread of swine flu diseases in the State and added that there were no swine flu cases in Karimnagar district. The Minister said that they were according top priority for the development of hospitals to provide proper medicare to the people. The Minister said that they were equipped with adequate medicines to tackle any diseases in the government hospitals. DM&HO Dr Aleem, hospital superintendent Dr Laxman, were also present.
