Two electrocuted, three hurt in freak accident

In a freak accident, two persons were electrocuted while three others were injured in Miryalaguda on Friday morning.

The deceased have been identified as K. Yelamanda Rao (54) and Sheik Kashim (35), while the injured have been identified as Ashok, Venkat Reddy and Venkateshwarlu.

According to One-Town Inspector, Bikshpathi, Ashok and his driver brought a tipper to a service centre located at Idullagudem in Miryalaguda. While servicing the vehicle, the servicing centre owner Yelamanda Rao lifted the trolley of tipper using hydraulic lifting system.

As the vehicle was having some starting trouble, Ashok and Yelamanda Rao sought the help of passers-by -- Kashim, Venkateshwarlu and Venkat Reddy to push the vehicle back, that's when the tipper’s trolley came in touch with the live electric wires. Yelamanda Rao and Kashim died on the spot while the remaining suffered serious injuries. A case has been registered.
