The Twitter handle of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation managing director (@tsrtcmdoffice) was compromised at 9.30 p.m. on Sunday “despite all safety measures”.
A tweet related to cryptocurrency cash was retweeted by the account on January 15, raising suspicion.
In a release here on Monday, TSRTC said, “We do not endorse any tweets from our handle. We are working with Twitter Support to resolve the issue.”

Incidentally, the verified Twitter handle of Andhra Pradesh’s Director General of Police (@dgpapofficial) was allegedly hacked by miscreants on Sunday. The hackers misused the account and ‘liked’ obscene content on the microblogging site.
