The YSR Congress district president P. Sidhartha Reddy demanded the TRS to disclose the expenditure it spent for the conduct of such a huge public meeting in Secunderabad on Monday describing the exercise as “ostentatious” and “unnecessary” when farmers were dying with untimely rains and crop failures. Talking to The Hindu he said in a democratic dispensation spending a whopping amount in the name of party programmes when people were in difficulties was totally unbecoming of a political party. He said the TRS was celebrating the event forgetting the families of Telangana martyrs and even Prof. Jayashankar, the Telangana ideologue as there was no picture of him or martyrs on any poster or hoarding.

Mr. Sidhartha Reddy alleged that the ruling party leaders wasted so much of public money to mobilise people to the meeting while engaging all the RTC buses causing too much hardship to passengers. The TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao left all his promises made to people to the wind and focused his attention only to strengthen his party, he said.
