Cash, liquor, gifts distributed, say opposition

CPI State assistant secretary and former Kothagudem MLA K. Sambasiva Rao has charged the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi with making a mockery of democracy by blatantly violating the “moral code of conduct” during the just concluded elections to the Singareni Collieries recognised trade union.

Talking to mediapersons in Kothagudem on Friday, Mr. Rao alleged that the ruling party affiliated TBGKS had won the election through “unethical means” by encouraging defections from other unions during the electioneering.

The former legislator alleged that large amounts of cash, liquor and gifts were distributed in the coal belt region by some unscrupulous elements during the electioneering.
