Thunderstorm forecast

The Met Department has sounded a 48-hour thunderstorm warning for the State. Thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds are likely to occur in isolated places across all the districts. This is due to a depression over south-east Arabian Sea moved north-westwards, weakened into a well marked low pressure area and lay over Lakshadweep and adjoining south-east Arabian Sea on Thursday.

It is likely to move north-northwestwards and weaken further over south-east and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea during the next 24 hours.

In the meantime, temperatures have been rising steadily across the State with the highest maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius recorded at Ramagundam, while a temperature of 39 degree Celsius was recorded at Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Bhadrachalam and Mahabubnagar.
