Three ‘drown’ in Nalgonda

Two persons are feared drowned in Nagarjunasagar Left Bank Canal at Ilapuram village near Miryalaguda on Monday morning. They were identified as Mommad Azhar, 28, and Sheik Jhony, 29 residents of Shapoornagar in Miryalaguda town.

According to the police, the duo along with their friends Lateef, Riyaz and Ismail went for swimming in Left Bank Canal when Azhar, Jhony and Ismail were swept away with the stream. However, some local people rescued Ismail by throwing a rope. Though the Police Irrigation authorities and revenue officials are working together to trace them, their efforts did not yield any result by evening. Expert divers were conducting search operation until the late evening. A case was registered.
